This is Jesse Bateson’s sweet spot. He’s fuelled every day by the opportunity to work with people one-to-one and provide a perfect look and fit. Some might call it a business—he calls it a passion.

Jesse believes a belt is the most practical and essential piece of fashion in a wardrobe. For him, it’s something that perfectly represents his principles: endurance, integrity, effortless style and craftsmanship. Jesse has been working with leather for over 15 years. What started as a hobby quickly led to opening a small leather shop in 2006 in Peterborough, Ontario. From there, he focused on working directly with customers creating handmade one-of-a-kind custom leather works. The shop closed in 2011 so Jesse could concentrate on being a stay-at-home-father, but he re-established the business as an online store in 2017.

Today, Solid Leather brings that in-person feel to an online experience through social media, videos, email marketing and trade/craft shows.
