actor, entrepreneur, producer and playwright
Andrea Scott is an award winning playwright and producer who has been writing since 2011. She has been in the playwright units at Obsidian Theatre, Cahoots Theatre, Roseneath Theatre, Factory Theatre, Theatre Direct, Nightwood, and Eastern Front Theatre. She was also the playwright-in-residence for the Tarragon Theatre in 2020/2021.
While her stage accomplishments are impressive, what separates Andrea from others in the creative arts is her understanding that above all she is an entrepreneur. Part of her success stems from her commitment to building and maintaining relationships with others in the theatre community, even when she is not promoting her own work. Her approach is thoughtful and deliberate, ensuring that people in the business are always connected to and aware of the work she is doing. Because she is selling an artistic experience, building trust with theatre directors is a critical part of her success. The best works will never be performed if theatre directors aren’t aware that they exist!
“Controlled Damage”, her first mainstage production produced at Neptune Theatre in Halifax, Nova Scotia and was sold out before it opened on February 7, 2020. It is being performed in her hometown of London, Ontario January 17-29, 2023 at the Grand Theatre. Tickets are available at www.grandtheatre.com
